Night Owl

Friday, January 23, 2015

A year ago, I had a crazy idea about taking a photo and turning it into a night scene .Ok.  I agree. That does sound really simple and probably something that has been thought of long ago. But try it! Its such fun! For this painting, I used Titanium White, Black and Ultramarine Blue acrylic paint. I found an image to use as a guideline for the basic proportions of the owl and then added the limb, moon ect. Just use your imagination!

I loved painting this little night owl! I hope you enjoy it too! For those of you who are wondering, it is for sale on my website. Just email me if you are interested! alana.fuller@verizon.net  8x10 $85.00

Marlin Acrylic Painting

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

When I have an idea in my head for several days, there come a point where I can't keep it in any longer. This was so true with this painting.  I had been imagining it for so long that once I threw out a sketch I couldn't stop painting it!  About an hour later it was completed and I'm still tickled pink with how it turned out.  I think I might touch up the gills a wee bit but its going to be framed this week!
