People keep asking me how I create my stationery. I keep telling myself I should really write a post about it. But alas, I never have. So in the spirit of learning to blog like a pro *snicker* I'm going to sit my little self down and give it a go.
Its all quite simple. I typically think of objects since that is what I mostly paint. Maybe its a really pretty flower I like, or a bird. Maybe a leaf or a shell.
Sketching is probably one of my favorite things to do. Its relaxing and I can pretty much do it anywhere. Typically, I research and find a whole list of things I want to paint and then sketch them out all at once. After finding images and inspiration, I fill up several pages of watercolor paper with sketches and start painting.
After painting, I scan the image using one of my printers. From there, I use photoshop to measure, copy and past. Its super simple when you actually know what you are doing. Next stop is to the printers.
Finding a good printing source is very important. From my experience, getting samples done at different printers in order to compare the quality can make a stunning difference. Not all printers are equal.
Finally, its time to fold, cut, and package!
